The Chamber Strings was the brainchild of the late Kevin Junior. Junior grew up in Akron, Ohio and moved to Chicago when he was 16. After stints in the Mystery Girls and the Rosehips, he collaborated with Epic Soundtracks and Nikki Sudden in England. When he returned to Chicago, he started the Chamber Strings. What a joy to find this on bandcamp, having missed out on the vinyl rerelease. I'd only heard Strawberry Window prior to this, but I love that song and have done since first hosting it on Radio Scotland, back in the late 80s. This is exactly my kind of music, layered, anthemic guitars and great melodies. At times, it brings to mind another great lost band, The Train Set. Fabulous stuff.
